Did my bi-annual perimeter spray last weekend. Permethrin works very well. It’s a constant moral struggle I have. I don’t like using this stuff, but I’d rather use it than pull ticks off my kids.

Been doing the same for years, using 99% garlic for one pass and then Wondercide for the following week (and myself/dogs as well!). My street stinks of garlic the next day or so.
I do that once every other month and really do not see ticks or many annoying bugs (gnats still are rampant and we get a lot of bees which are quite welcome).

This is the garlic one, usually grab it from Amazon.
Wondercide is also available at Amazon and some local places. This I put on the dogs and myself in place of DEET (sometimes I put both on myself lol). But also goes on the yard, I do not put the garlic one on myself but it's likely safe.

Came on here to say I use the same stuff and just sprayed my yard two days ago and my mother-in-law's yesterday. Before that, I had a tick on me two weeks ago and just pulled a tick off my dog this past weekend. Wish I sprayed sooner!!!

The only thing stopping me from using that is we're on well water and I have no idea how bad that could end up

What symptoms did you notice at first?
Wedgedgum t1_jd5rp9t wrote
Stiff neck - stiff joints - exhaustion. That was about 48 hours after the tick bite. I saved the tick to show the docs. They gave me a 20 day dose of antibiotics.

I’m a land surveyor here in Connecticut and I’ve been pulling them off me all winter, it’s going to be a tough summer with these ticks. I sometimes have one in me on a daily basis, those that only have them on them seldomly shouldn’t freak out too much although they do suck!

If you mean lyme, you aren’t immune after catching it
