I like broken arrow in Hamden. I love blue spruce but won't get another one ever. They are beautiful and smell great but they shed knife sharp needles everywhere. I practically had to put on armor to carry it out of the house

Last year after Xmas I just cut the branches off with a sawzall and threw them out the window. Less mess and injuries haha cause "somebody" has to have a blue spruce.

Not sure why people want blue/white spruce Xmas trees…they’re beautiful but they just shit needles everywhere no matter how well you try to keep them watered

The two replies are why we want them. Yea they’re def a pain to care for I completely agree. But we do have a decent amount of heavy ornaments my parents really like to use especially my mom. We also have 2 dogs so the stiffness/sharpness is a help. One ouchie and they stay away.

They’ve got very sturdy branches which is great for people who have heavy ornaments.

The animals tend to leave them alone because they're prickly, that's always been our main reason for them.

Red Hill Tree Farm on Route 5 in East Windsor has them. Didn’t get ours yet but drove through today to see what they have.

You can skip all the Dzen Farms in South Windsor/Ellington. The main farm in SW was way picked over last year and none of the other Dzen Tree farms have Spruce.

Broken Arrow. Two locations for Xmas trees in Hamden. Cheaper than Jones and no reservation needed.
