Checks. You'd be surprised how many people still pay bills by mail. And this time of year, people are sending xmas cards with cash/ gift cards.

Christmas cards containing cash and/or gift cards. Mail theft always spikes around the holidays.

A friend of mine in southington had it happen. He still pays bill by check. They "washed" his checks and hit him for $8k.

What blows my mind if why anyone would leave a check in mail box .. like anything being mailed from your house is most likely a bill . It’s advertising here is money

Back in Houston some of the nicer neighborhoods were installing plate readers at major entry points into the area's.

I look forward to this technology getting cheaper / being expanded upon. Would easily catch scumbags like this.

Nineteen Eighty-Four

>Nineteen Eighty-Four (also stylised as 1984) is a dystopian social science fiction novel and cautionary tale written by the English writer George Orwell. It was published on 8 June 1949 by Secker & Warburg as Orwell's ninth and final book completed in his lifetime. Thematically, it centres on the consequences of totalitarianism, mass surveillance and repressive regimentation of people and behaviours within society. Orwell, a democratic socialist, modelled the authoritarian state in the novel on Stalinist Russia and Nazi Germany.
