Looking for your recommendations on places to get a Christmas tree that have an enjoyable holiday experience. I used to go to broken arrow in Hamden at both locations with my ex and we really loved it and the trees. But this year my family is looking to pass on our family tradition to my new niece and we really want to find a farm that is decorated or ones with some sort of theme. Do any of these exist in the state? Thank you all in advanced and hope you enjoyed the holiday!

There is dzen in south Windsor(there are multiple Dzen tree farms in south Windsor, so it gets confusing). The one you want is at 215 Barber Hill rd. The have actual real live reindeer, giant Santa statue, Santa and Mrs Claus at certain times, cocoa and stuff, and cut your own tree. The downside is that it is extremely popular, so it is busy and the tree selection has gotten sparser/you need to trek further out.

I recommend Dzen if you're looking for the experience. It's really cool to see reindeer. It's really cute! The trees are expensive and gets busy, but it definitely has the Christmas experience!

Fairview Tree Farm in Shelton does hayrides through holiday light decorations (you have to buy tickets in advance). Jones Family Farm also in Shelton has a North and South Pole theme in the cutting fields with cardboard character cutouts and the like, along with the fire and cocoa and wine tastings they have going. If you’re cutting down your own tree in the fields you need to reserve a time slot ahead of time. But be advised, these spots are EXTREMELY popular, especially Jones, so expect traffic and wait times.

I second this. Just passed by there and what a mess with the amount of people over there this morning

Maple Row tends to be the most recommended, at least in western CT. The trees are pricy though. You pay for the experience.

Appreciate it! Figured it would cost more with an experience. The pst few years I would go to a local spot with pre cut trees that they got from Canada. Every one over the past few years we’re symmetrically pretty but the price was about the same as cutting it down myself. Roughly around 75-100. Seems every where I’ve heard is around that price so I might as well get an experience out of it, especially for the niece.

Reneson Family tree farm in Colchester. The trees are beautiful. They take care of them. Super nice and helpful people. Plus, free hot cider, candy canes, and coloring books. There’s a toy train that runs around the ceiling of the shed. We go every year and are always happy.
