U.S. residents used about 3.9 trillion kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity in 2021, a 13-fold increase since 1950. The amount of electricity we use is only expected to increase in the coming decades as well, rising to about 5.1 trillion kWh by 2050.

A steadily increasing demand for power will mean greater strain on aging energy systems, and big questions for consumers worried about rising costs.

Connecticut is trapped between a rock and a hard place.

Fucking Yankee Institute.

Eversource's price gouging of the residents of Connecticut is a direct result of the corporate propaganda pushed out by trash "think tanks," such as this one, funded by the billionaire class for the sole purpose to trick poor people into cutting their taxes and deregulating big business.

Anti American fucking hacks. Hope y'all are the first to be eaten when the class war comes.

For anyone who doesn't know, /r/CTinsideinvestigator is just the Yankee Institute trying to obscure it's origins, disregard anything it says.

Nuclear is the only way to keep up with needs while green technology catches up. It's also the cleanest of any of the power generators.

Maybe, someday we'll get Wind power off of Cape Cod, or in the Long Island sound.

But that's going to be up to the government doing something or somehow people stop being NIMBYs

It’s a shitty “think tank” if you can even call it that. They try to sway policy makers in the northeast to increase the wealth of the upper class in the region

Weird. Democrats do that too, isn’t Lamont like a millionaire living in the governor’s mansion on prospect Ave in hartford? Blumenthal and Chris Murphy are pretty rich too

What’s weird is that you bring a whataboutism when talking about a think tank that right wing policy makers listen to more than their own constituents. But at the end of the day both parties are very problematic it different ways.
