My younger brothers (11 and 17) are visiting me in the Hartford area later in March but I’m not really sure what to do to make sure they have fun. I’ve tried looking online and in Facebook events but only adult things or museums/historical places show up. Any suggestions? Any cool places or events happening? Thanks for the help!
Basketball Hall of Fame is in Springfield Massachusetts

The Go-Kart track in Waterford
Dinosaur State Park is loads of fun, it has a small museum with dinosaur fossil tracks and a couple of hiking trails.

If outdoors is too stiff ground, their is an indoor rock climbing place in Manchester on Adam’s street.

Drive north to a nice open field and set them free. LOL
Hike up to heublein tower in Avon/Simsbury. But the tower is closed but still a good view at the base and on the cliffs.

In addition to hiking: Fun City Trampoline Park in New Britain, Complexity Escape Room in Farmington (there are others in Rocky Hill/Wethersfield but my kids like Complexity), Jordan’s Furniture Ropes Course (stop for pizza in New Haven).
New Britain has one of those bounce places
mystic seaport or mystic aquarium if you want a drive. Hartford Wolf Pack Hockey, Roller Skating in Vernon or somewhere in Middletown.
Nomads can be fun
The Trash Museum in hartford can be a lot of fun, it’s a small museum but still!

Depends on their interests. I remember it being pretty boring being a teen in the Hartford area. That’s a tough age gap in some ways - about the same as my sibling and I. It’s like one is too old and the other is too young, and it’s hard to find things that would be interesting to both.
We have some cool outdoor places to explore. The rail trail along the CT River is fun. If they’re into hiking, look at some the land trusts in the region.
You could drive or take a train to New Haven. Walk around Yale campus, walk through the free museum, grab some food, check out some stores. Go to Edgerton Park, check out the free greenhouses. The older brother might like Strangeways. New Haven feels more like a city and I loved that stuff as a kid.
Alternately, head north to Basketball Hall of Fame, or maybe check out Northampton, Easthampton, Amherst.
