Hello all, has anyone found a way to use their own modem to not pay the modem fee of leasing a modem from Earthlink? I'm planning to move next month to Cheshire.

Earthlink does not have a fiber footprint think they resell frontier.

gonetspeed has a fiber footprint in cheshire they would be your best option.

I have my own router but would like to not pay the monthly fee of renting the modem.

Wait, are Gonetspeed or Frontier available?

I've used fiber from both and neither charged me for a modem. ~$60 a month for gigabit service.

AFAIK Earthlink just resells other services and based on my professional experience (IT Director for a midsize business with multiple locations) avoid them if you can.

Both are available but I used a website to show me what options are available at the residence and it gave me Earthlink as the fiber option. I found the other two and they are available without modem rental. I'm moving to Cheshire next month and will see which option is best once I'm at the home.

Earthlink offers 5G internet in Cheshire, not fiber. Looks like neither Frontier or Gonetspeed offer fiber there yet but Cox offers speeds up to 1 gbps, cable.
