Hi all,
I want to mount a pull-up bar like in the picture I linked below to a sturdy and even wall. Unfortunately it is very old and it's surface is somewhat bumpy. That means that when I just mount the bar as is, not every screw hole will touch the wall which in turn will lead to an uneven distribution of force and that 'creaking' metal sound when I do pull ups.
Does anyone have ideas or experience on how to circumvent this and make for quiet pull-ups? My neighbors will love your ideas ;)
Edit for anyone stumbling on this: using wood shims like the comments suggested worked like a charm for me.
