Im not sure what kind but there were a bunch of them in the rocks on the river right side.

I was in sandals or barefoot. I spent a lot of time there in the mid 90's Thats a great kayaking spot when the water is coming out of the power house just up stream from your picture. Its been 25 years since ive been there though

IIRC these falls did not exist until the river was dammed. The water level behind the new dam was high enough that some water found paths through the rock that emerge at the top of these falls.

The fall colors at rock island are always great juxtaposed against the rocks. I took a kayak up to the beach area last week. It will always be one of my favorite state parks!
