We tried to see this arch and got attacked by birds when we attempted to get closer. This looks much more peaceful than that day. 😂

Ah, perhaps you met the wonderful divebombing bird, Arctic Tern! They come here to lay eggs and are always super duper aggressive!

IndependenceFit2928 t1_j14cm9i wrote

That would make sense. It was just weird because we saw two other groups walk through and not get attacked. Maybe they could tell we are Americans

This is so cool. The amazing thing about our fabulous planet is that a person may see something incredibly beautiful just about anywhere.

OPisdabomb OP t1_j13xb03 wrote

That is very true! Seeing as I live in Iceland, there are SO many places that have been photographed a million times. I go and shoot the touristy angle and then always like to try and do a different approach 😀

FYI the original post is higher-resolution.

OPisdabomb OP t1_j14fziu wrote

Oh, shi. I forgot I’d posted this one before! That’s closer to the resolution it should be!

MorokeiToorStrunKest t1_j13xpuh wrote

This picture is amazing! But why is the resolution so low? I feel like any camera capable of capturing a night shot like this with great contrast would also shoot in much higher quality.

OPisdabomb OP t1_j13y71g wrote

I'll admit I didn't realise it was QUITE so compressed when I posted it.

But generally I hate watermarking stuff so I keep my stuff in lower resolution to avoid theft. But You're quite right, it's too low.

Images of the Aurora with sea stacks is not something you see regularly. It really reminds you how difficult noise is to deal with in such dynamic surroundings.
