It needs a new engine, other than water damage I don’t know what to call it because it’s nothing you can see and I don’t know anything about cars! I would also attach a picture, but I don’t have any older pics of my car and it’s at the mechanics right now, but can update with pic later on, but it’s a 2019 Hyundai Elantra with no frame damage And yes Facebook is what sold my last car! I’m listing it everywhere possible because I really do need to sell it

You need to explain in the listing what happened. "Water damage" usually means "I drove it into a lake" or "my neighborhood was flooded" and that means a WHOLE LOT more than just the engine is damaged. How did the engine get "water damage" but nothing else? If you don't explain this, no one will touch your car for $6000. NO ONE.

Okay, but you know about water. You need to say what happened to your car.

I updated it in the comments before. If anyone wants to know anything more specific, I can definitely answer to the best of my ability!

What’s uncle Henry’s?

Google it. It’s like a Maine classified section.

Just checked it out! Had no idea about this but thank you!

I drove through a large puddle, and the engine seized, insurance had me bring it to a shop, the mechanic looked it over, and they wrote up a repair estimate. Aside from an oil and and something else that’s an easy fix, it just needs a new engine. Water didn’t get inside the car at all! But I’m happy to answer questions to the best of my ability! I **really don’t know much about selling cars, no matter the condition!

What is the insurance co's response to the estimate?
[deleted] OP t1_j65zv6a wrote
The estimate is from the insurance people! They had me bring it to a shop, and they came up with that together! I have the full report to I’ll add to the comments!

I only asked because I assumed if it was repairable, they'd pay for it. If they say it's junk and won't fix it, that might be something you'd want to include in your advert.
[deleted] OP t1_j662yzo wrote
They did say they would repair it! That was in the description in the link, they estimated 4000$ to repair, but my deductible is high and I don’t have that right now! So I put the money they gave for the repairs towards the loan

This makes zero sense. Ask your mechanic EXACTLY what happened and write it down. Put that in your ad.

But that’s what happened, I guess the term for it is hydrolocked after googling it. But that’s all I did, drive through a large puddle while rounding a corner, and the engine seized and didn’t start back up. After that I had it towed, it sat while waiting for an appointment, after mechanic and adjuster looked at it, a new engine and acouple other things is what they came to the conclusion of. I’m not sure what info you need to answer my question, but I can answer the questions to what I know.

Unless this is a Range Rover I’m buying as a starter car for my 16 year old, I’m not interested

Thanks for your input!

No one's gonna be interested unless you say with some specificity what the "water damage" consists of. Also include a picture.
Also post it on Facebook Marketplace. Yes, Facebook is evil, blah blah blah but plenty of people make an account just for buying and selling on Marketplace. You can make an account and not include any personal info like pics, etc.
