Hey everyone,

I’m going through a bit of a music slump when it comes to my regular gym listening. I usually listen to rap or rock, with a preference for high energy/ tempo, as you would expect. I’m looking for recommendations, but also feel like it would be cool for people to share what they listen to while working out!

Some top pick albums for me are:

IGOR - Tyler, the creator

RTJ3 - Run the Jewels

Wolfmother - Wolfmother

LP! - JPEGMAFIA

Ten - Pearl Jam

ZUU - Denzel Curry

At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command. Pretty full throttle album that accesses a lot of emotion for me so while I exercise, I also exorcise my demons. Whoever said Mastodon - Leviathan is also correct, beautifully intense album.

They do a lot of dubstep/d&b/edm stuff, but if you're a fan of RTJ you might enjoy Foreign Beggars (RIP Ebow).

Made this one with kickboxing in mind but also for running etc.

I have so many other ones if you're still looking for higher energy tunes!

Treadmill Mix was one of the first playlists I made when I got a Spotify account. It's loaded with 80s, 90s and 00s hard alt-rock, like Social Distortion, QotSA, Black Keys, etc.

I train to Painkiller - Judas Priest when I'm on the cycling turbo trainer in the shed. One of my buddies trains whilst listening to Adele and he wonders why I'm faster than him.

I often hit the „This is Godsmack“ playlist for working out. Music is uptempo and full of energy, but it‘s not as hectic as death metal.

Fear Factory-Demanufacture. Specifically the song “Body Hammer”; that shit is like pure adrenaline when I do chest or arms.

For the gym I usually go with metal, specially stuff on the groovier side like Pantera or Chaos AD/Roots era Sepultura. For running or bicycle riding I really like some skatepunk or poppunk. Green Day's Insomniac is a record I've heard dozens of times on the treadmill.
