I know the feeling. My concert going has really slowed down. They are more expensive and I get tired with getting there and paying the crazy concession prices. Plus like you said the artists I like are all retired or about to.

Didn't you post this exact story a few weeks ago? 🤔

Didn't you get enough responses that time? 🙄

Is there a reason you still won't actually say who the "artist" is?

I'm curious now. Who is she?

For me, it was Pink Floyd. I waited forever for them to tour Australia, and when they finally did in 1988, I was having my first baby and couldn't go. I lost interest after that.

Honestly most people have a change in things as they age.

I used to go to concerts quite a bit from 16-25. Local shows, arena concerts, outdoor festivals... but you would have a hard time dragging me to one these days. Too expensive, too crowded, too much hassle, sometimes too loud depending on situation

I slowed down around 26-32.. Last heavy metal show in the pits was lamb of God and the Last few Arena shows I saw I greatly preferred the "stands" over the GA floor. Think it was Iron Maiden. It's just easier... I can just walk out the hall if I gotta pee or grab a beer and not wade or fight through bodies.

Nowadays, I can see/hear pretty much anything I want via streaming services/YouTube at my own convenience.

There's certainly the 'live spirit' to experience at a solid show with like minded people but the expense, crowd, hassle, and well...sweaty people... Just aren't something I care to deal with.

It's not the only thing I've had a change of interest in and I'm sure it won't be anywhere near the last.

I think that's true for all people. We grow out of interests to one degree or another our whole life.

I’ve had tons of favorite artists retire or pass away. It’s always a bummer, but thankfully I have a lot of musicians I love that are still touring. I think you just need to listen to more music and find more artists you can get excited about.

Maybe check out Allmusic.com and give some of the related artists and influences a try? There’s gotta be something out there for you!

Yeah, I did, but it wasn’t music.

I was a pretty big hockey fan, particularly of my hometown team the Vancouver Canucks.

In 2011 (I think) they made the Stanley Cup final against the Boston Bruins. It went to game seven, and we lost, and after that there was a riot. Lots of fires in the downtown core, businesses big and small were burned and looted. It was horrible. You could see the smoke from many miles away.

Other than a couple of games during the Olympics, I haven’t watched a hockey game since.

Again? You're going to copy/post this every month? Not enough karma on the first try?
