$16 for guacamole? $18 for tacos? $26 for stir-fried rice??????????

Those prices are high even for midtown Manhattan. What on earth are they thinking?

Incidentally, Konoz Restaurant on Broad/Clinton is very good with prices half that.

Probably because rent is insanely high

Not higher than Manhattan. I love guacamole, so I am well versed in restaurant pricing. $12-$14 is what you find at quality restaurants in NYC.

Honestly those are pretty standard prices in most new places in Newark these days. Really is no reason not to just go to Manhattan if you have the time.

“We’re trying to have a dish from every country that speaks Spanish.”

Yeah that pretty much never works. Not to mention the location which seems to be a death sentence for businesses in that area. Newark should fix that first. Insanely high rents and inability to make money with alcohol are probably a few reasons.

This place appears to have a liquor licensed bar inside.

And ABC licenses are as much a state issue as a local one

Just Beclaws had a bar and never managed to get a license in the 2-3 years they were open
