The horror aisle or section of the video stores in the 80’s-90’s were pure bliss. Good times.

The VHS boxes for the horror movies in the 80s and 90s were the best. As a kid, some were horrifying, but you were always curious to look at the back of the cover. And, I have to say, some of the covers were better than the movies themselves.

There are some good ones featured in this pic. When I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s I would always rent a couple cartoons and would then head straight to the horror section. He-Man : ✔️, Care Bears: ✔️, Slumber Party Massacre: ✔️. All set!

Honestly miss video store, so much thought went in to what I was going to rent, or the satisfaction of waiting so long from when it went from the theater to when it became available to rent

Thinking about renting I Dismember Mama?

Fat chance, kid. It's rated R.

The VHS stores I went to when I was a kid literally didn’t care. I’d rent R movies all the time. Then when Blockbuster took over, they were more strict. Had to have a parent with you, but my mom was pretty cool. She’d just roll her eyes and give me that “You really shouldn’t be watching this” look, but would end up letting me rent it anyway.
