Jim Carrey was originally offered $350,000 for the role but they never locked in that deal. It wasn't until after the success of ace ventura: pet detective that they sat down and finalized his price, which ended up being 7 million dollars. Jeff Daniel's was paid $50k and gladly took it just for an opportunity to work with Carrey.

Their movies just got more stupid rather than funny and other filmmakers overtook them. They were the kings for a while there in the late 90s though.

I would pay money for the nic and Gary take. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Sound track is a masterpiece. Such a great road trip,buddy movie.
