When we were kids, we played basketball with dad. We thought we'd take it easy on the old guy. He was in his 40s at that point. Turned out he had this really mean ass hook shot he could hit just about anywhere on the court, and you just could not block it. Always thought that was weird.
After he passed, when we were clearing out the house, we found an old newspaper clipping. Apparently he was starting on the team that was the state champions when he was in his senior year in HS. Never told us.

For most Americans a hard to pronounce Polish last name. I was born and raised in Buffalo's east side aka Polonia. Shi-chefs-key as best II can render in an English format.
