Three cheers on that. Watching the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Leon Russell can move you to tears.

You can try to distract us with your hat all you want, mate, but we can still see your socks with mandals.

Not many people could pull off a hat like that, but the man had style and personality to match his talent. This picture is him, through and through. I usually think of him with a piano, but he was just a straight-up musician.

Little bit of everything I guess. He moves between guitar and piano in the Joe Cocker concert film Mad Dogs and Englishmen.

He played at the famous Concert For Bangladesh on August 1, 1971, along with a number of the members of the Joe Cocker ensemble. Along with George Harrison, he appeared in the Bob Dylan segment, where he accompanied them on bass.

I didn't know he played with Joe Cocker. I think I need to do a deep dive on the man with the big hands!

He was great. A great creator, songwriter, producer, musician etc. If Elton John did anything right in his life, it was that he was the person responsible for Leon Russell being inducted into the rock and roll Hall of Fame.
