Looking for a long-lost friend of my father, named Lenny

This is a long shot, but worth a try.

My brother and I are looking for an old friend of our father (our dad passed away almost 10 years ago, so we can't ask him). Unfortunately, we don't have much info to go on with this. Here's what we know:

  • We called him "Uncle Lenny", and we both remember him fondly. But we have no idea what his last name was or if that was a nickname (maybe Leonard?)
  • He lived in Kona, Hawaii in the 80's, where he and my Dad got to be close friends.
  • He (and my Dad) were hippies, smoked a lot of weed, drank a lot of beer, good times.
  • He later married a nice lady named Maggie. She is a nurse, we think.
  • He later moved to Pennsylvania.
  • He called me shortly after my dad passed away, and the phone number was a PA number. Unfortunately, I lost that number.

Yeah, it's a total long shot, but if you happen to know (or knew) any old or former hippies named Lenny, who married a nice nurse named Maggie... maybe shoot me a message?

I hope you are successful it does sound like a long shot. When this Lenny fella moved to PA do you know the town or general area? I think that would be your best chance. PA is full of small and medium sized towns where everyone knows everyone. He and your dad sound like pretty cool dudes I’m sure people from that town would remember. Good luck.

Great suggestion, the number might’ve been from Wilkes-Barre, we’re not sure, it’s been a while. Dad was never clear about what part of PA Lenny moved to. He was a fun-loving and social guy, so I’m sure someone somewhere might remember him!

Honestly, I wouldn’t help me either, this sort of thing is usually totally sketch.

If someone genuinely knows this guy, I’d just give them my contact info to pass along, and let Lenny decide if he wants to reach out. I’d require confirmation of other certain details I’m not disclosing before that happened.

Contact your phone carrier (even if you’ve left the carrier) and review your bills over that time period. Your detailed bill will have every phone number you’ve been in touch with. They may push back due to timing but keep pushing, they have it.

Man, I was so hoping I could help you. I work with a dude who's last name is Leonard, is known around town as Lenny, and would have smoked mad weed and drank beers with anyone right in that timeframe. As far as I know, he's never been to Hawaii. Best of luck, internet person!

I’m sure your phone provider has record of the call or number, if you can remember roughly when the call might’ve happened.
