My property has boundary flags in the middle of a stone wall. That is, the wall itself is a few feet thick, and the flagged stake is set right in the middle. Do I own half the wall? Anyone know how this works, it feels like you can't own half of something like this.

Sure it makes sense. You each own half, which mean neither of you can do anything to the wall without the consent of the other. Dismantling your half of the wall would undermine their half, so you can't do it. Same goes for them, so you end up with a bit of a buffer zone.
