This is great news. I wish these types of stories attracted more attention than stories like, say, the play-by-play status of the US House Speaker.

Tell me about it! Don't get me wrong - it's funny to see McCarthy being repeatedly rejected and the GOP demonstrating its ineffectiveness over and over again, but it's beginning to feel a bit stale.

EDIT: Looks like the 15th time's the charm.

Good job Michael Gove opened a new coal mine then!

Because coal is only used to generate power, how would you like them to make steel? Ship in 000's of tonnes?

You sound like an expert. We know Michael Gove doesn't listen to those.

And we do import nearly half of all steel, FYI. I am steel agnostic, I have no real opinion on this.

Yet the people in our government hate it. You'd think with all that's going on a little hole grown power would make economic sense.

Unfortunately the price of wholesale wind is going up though, so prepare for some price increases.

Which is a good incentive to start investing in more wind. Prices of steel for the towers have also gone up.

As is Germany, due to eagerness to reduce dependence on Russian natural gas. Although I've heard it's been a relatively mild winter in that part of the world thus far. Hopefully that will mean a shortfall in funds for the Russian war machine via Gazprom, and less fossil fuels in general being burned for heat in the Eurosphere this cold season.
