Hi Redditors! I have to move to Medway,MA for my new job and struggling to find affordable housing (1bed+1bath/ studio) in or around medway. The rentals on apartments.com etc start at around$1800/month. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Check craigslist as well, there are scammers but also some legit places. Just don't hand over any money before seeing the place in person and getting a lease signed. Here's one for $1400 in Franklin: https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/apa/d/franklin-one-bedroom/7598272419.html

Milford, Bellingham, Franklin, Blackstone, Uxbridge, Northbridge and Upton are all relatively close to Medway and might have more options.

Unfortunately, no. This is a statewide Massachusetts issue. You can't even really move out to Western Mass and find anything affordable any more. It's just awful all the way around.

I would shift your search to Northern Rhode Island. It's not too far from Medway and you've a better chance at finding something affordable.

try bellingham and woonsocket, ri. maybe milford. those places will be “cheaper”

Try different towns around it - Medway is not cheap. Heck, you could get away with living in Warwick RI because you'd be close enough to there. Better luck will be had in Franklin, Bellingham, and Milford.

Try Milford rent will probably be cheaper and it’s right next to medway
