"What do you mean, Flora?" Zack asks. "Urrick doesn't hide things..."

I shake my head. "That's what I thought. Look, we can't do this out here. Please help me take Urrick back to yours. Your family has a basement we could use, right?"

Zack shrugs. "Yeah, we do... but when we get there, you owe, I think BOTH of us, an explanation."

I look at Urrick. "Come on." Zack and I get him to his feet.

"Flora... I don't understand..." Urrick seems about ready to cry. I hold back my instinct to comfort him.

"You will soon" I state.

We get to Zack's house. Zack unlocks the outside entrance to the basement. "Take Urrick inside. I've got to make sure my family won't come in while we're... doing whatever it is you're planning." He rushes inside the house. Just before I start walking into the basement, I feel his presence. I turn to look.

"Lucifer" I greet.

Lucifer walks up to us. "I thought something felt off... Flora, you remember who's supposed to be in charge, right? What exactly are you doing here, so late into the afternoon, with Urrick chained up like that?"

"Things are strange, Lucifer. I feel tricked and deceived. I need answers." I stare coldly at Lucifer.

He nods. "Very well. But I'll be present for this."

"But, boss-" Urrick starts.

Lucifer glares at him. "Remember that day, when I invited you and Flora for lunch? You told me your relationship was for real, didn't you? In your words, 'she's not a toy or a tool'. If you truly love her, then this little situation shouldn't be a problem for you." He grins.

The three of us enter the basement. Zack has already set up a chair and even grabbed some rope. His eyes shoot up when he sees Lucifer, but he doesn't say anything. I shove Urrick onto the chair. I grab the rope and tie him down as tightly as I can. For several moments, we're all silent.

"Flora... love... what happened?" Urrick asks. Without a word, I grab the book Nie let me borrow and chuck it onto Urrick's lap. I then open up to the relevant page.

"Corrupted soul. Human slowly turns into a demon. Know anything about that?" I question. Urrick's eyes go wide. Zack seems shocked, and Lucifer is confused.

"Wait... you didn't know, Flora?" Lucifer puzzles.

"No. When I first asked for Urrick and I to be together forever, I wasn't expecting a partial soul exchange." I stroke my horns. "I thought I'd just be a half-demon. But that's not true... is it, Urrie?" I put as much venom into the last word as I can.

Zack snatches the book to have a look himself. "This... no, it can't be..."

Urrick has begun to tremble. "Flora... I didn't mean to trick you... I was trying to fulfil your wish..." I give him a hard slap.

"DO YOU KNOW HOW CONFUSING AND STRESSFUL THIS IS? DID YOU WANT TO STEAL ME? USE ME? I TRUSTED YOU, URRICK!" I'm shaking myself. Lucifer has put an arm around my shoulders to comfort me.

"Urrick... you assured me you love Flora. Why, then, would you trick her like this? I have no problem with the stunt itself, and of course I take pleasure in a human's pain and suffering, but love works differently, right?" Lucifer looks straight at Urrick.

Urrick sighs. "I... I've seen a partial soul exchange once before... it kept the pair together forever... that's all I wanted... for myself... AND for Flora..."

"But, Urrick, why didn't you tell her what will happen? This whole thing is why Nie's parents summoned an angel. You know Flora's life could be ruined as well, right?" Zack states.

I take a deep breath. "You lied to my dad, Urrick! I took you here because as far as my dad is concerned, this ISN'T happening! You TOLD him I wasn't corrupted!"

Urrick just breaks down into tears. "I didn't mean to lie... I never meant to hurt you OR your family, Flora! I'm sorry!" Seeing Urrick erupt like this instantly breaks my heart. I guess, despite all of this, I still love Urrick. I walk over, place a hand on his cheek, and kiss it. Urrick looks at me hopefully.

"You should have told me a lot sooner, Urrick. About how the soul exchange works. I do want to be with you forever, but... I don't know if I want to become a demon to do it..." I let out a sigh.

Zack walks towards Lucifer. "Is Scott going to be with Vulca forever?"

Lucifer laughs. "Yes. You see, the longer a human remains in the afterlife for, the closer they get to death. Heck, most humans in a position where they're in the afterlife all the time don't even REALISE they've died! Only IF they try to come back to Earth do they realise they're dead!"

Well, that explains... hang on... "Urrick?"

Urrick just shakes his head. He clearly feels ashamed. It's obvious now why he wanted me to spend so much time with him: it would kill the human part of my soul all the quicker. I know Urrick genuinely loves me, but to go to such lengths...

"Ok... let's straighten this out. Urrick, did you think Flora knew?" Zack seems to be interrogating Urrick now.

"Well... I mean... I don't know... I guess I thought she'd figure it out... but I didn't do it while KNOWING she didn't know..." Urrick is just staring down now.

"So were you ever planning on telling her?" Zack folds his arms.

Urrick takes a deep breath. "I... never thought much about it..."

Zack narrows his eyes. "What about when you were at Flora's place?"

Urrick squirms slightly. "All I said was it's far too early for her to join me... I didn't..." Urrick suddenly goes quiet. Zack begins to walk over.

"WAIT!" I shout. Zack stops and looks at me. "Urrick only goes quiet like this when he's confused. I think... I think he's as shocked and scared as I am." I think for a moment. What do I do now? It seems like, eventually, I'll either be a demon for eternity, or die as a human.

During this moment of silence, Lucifer chuckles. "So the only problem is WHEN he told you, is it? If he told you from the start, you'd have still accepted him?" he taunts.

I look at him. "Probably. I mean, maybe not? It's hard for me to say... but I do love him..."

Lucifer nods, smirking. "Ok, so you have your answers now, everything is cleared up. I believe you can release Urrick now."

"Hang on" Zack calls. "Flora didn't say she's ok being a demon!"

Lucifer shrugs. "The alternative is she dies a human and is under Urrick's command anyway. Wouldn't being a demon be more fun, Flora?" Lucifer's gaze locks onto me.

I stare at the ground. "I don't know... it's all far too confusing..."

Lucifer again puts his arm around my shoulders. "I suppose I should mention that I take good care of my minions..." he glances at Urrick "...no matter how stupid they act."

Urrick's face goes pink, causing me to giggle.

"Ok, how about a trial run? I have the powers that demons have for a few days, I try them out, see how it feels." I smile at Lucifer, who's grinning now.

"Of course! Hold still..." Lucifer steps back a bit, then chants a spell. "You won't look any different, but I promise you you do have powers now. Try aiming a finger at those ropes."

I look at the chair Urrick is still sitting in. I lift a finger, and before I know it, a bolt of energy shoots out, destroying the rope Zack used and trying to dispose of the holy chains. Lucifer puts a hand on my shoulder.

"I've got it from here" he says with a wink, demolishing the chains. Urrick stands up and looks around, a little dazed. "Well, that was quite the show! See you two later!" With that, Lucifer is gone.

I run up to Urrick. "Urrie, please, promise me... no more secrets..."

He pulls me into a hug. "I promise, love. On that note, I'm going to tell you something about Lucifer giving powers to a being without turning them into a demon..."

Well, that was dark. I don't know how to feel about this...

It's great, I am entertained as well as reading Lucifer's lines with Tom Ellis' voice in my head.

[Doctor's Aid]

"Are you a Healer?" The stern, green-haired man stared down at the 14-year-old girl in his waiting room.

"No, Sir," she shook her head. He nodded.

"I didn't think so," he said. "Name's Doc Mundo," he offered her his hand and she shook it.

"Call me Vivi," she said.

"Well, Vivi, what are you doing here tonight?" he asked. Vivi tilted her head at him. She was under the impression he knew why she was there when he approached her. But, she decided not to waste time pointing out things he should already know; it was quicker to just answer.

"I brought in that adolescent mermaid...," she answered. "...is she okay?"

"Sorry," Doc Mundo shrugged. "I guess I should clarify why did you bring an NPC to my clinic?" he asked. "You did realize she was an NPC, right?" Vivi nodded sheepishly.

"So many NPCs have been gaining consciousness lately," she shook her head. "I didn't want her to Wake up hurt and alone if it was going to happen." The doctor chuckled.

"Unfortunately, she's the 'wounded mermaid' for a Healer quest; she's always going to be hurting like that," he said.

"Oh...," Vivi nodded.

"But, I feel like you already knew I wouldn't be able to help her," the doctor said. Vivi gave another faint nod. She wasn't very good at lying, even if all she had to do was stay quiet. "And if that's the case, then it was just an excuse to talk to me. So, let me try this again. What are you doing here tonight?" he asked. Vivi had spent most of the evening trying to build her courage up. She still wasn't ready; but, it was now or never.

"I want to be a fae doctor like you!" She blurted it out. "I'll work for free in the office just so I can learn!" Doc Mundo looked down at her for several moments. Vivi managed to stay still and hold his gaze.

"Do you go to school?" he asked.

"Toku-high," she nodded. The doctor glanced at his watch, then he focused on her again.

"Alright, what are you doing tonight?" he asked. The question sounded different than when he asked it before. Vivi hoped she wasn't about to embarrass herself in front of the doctor.

"Helping you until I have to go home?" she answered with a hopeful question. The doctor chuckled, then he turned to leave the waiting area.

"Good answer," he said. "Come on then."

[Author's note: Whoops, forgot it was supposed to take place at night.]

Super Dating For Dummies

Detective Falcona lost track of the world around her, she was absorbed by the jazz band playing on the other side of Paul's piano bar. She dug through her coat pockets in the comfy back booth. A nasally high pitched voice cut through the music.

"Need a light?" She asked. The strike of a match and the dance of a flame lit Falcona's smoke for her.

"Hey Queeny. What are you doing here? You normally don't come in during jazz brunch."

Queen Bee winked at the detective. Her yellow and black striped sequined cocktail dress glowed in the early afternoon sun. A massive hive of honey blonde hair topped her head. She was striking, her features sharp, yet elegant. She started to slide into the booth.

"I didn't tell you to sit down. I asked you a question." Falcona barked.

Queen Bee rolled her eyes and stood up straight. "I was hoping to find you here. Is it safe to talk?" Bee looked around nervously.

"Sit down kiddo. You look nice today, really know how to put yourself together." Falcona sipped her mimosa and ordered another round from the server floating around. Service was impeccable at Paul's.

"Thanks, that suit looks nice on you, navy blue is a good color on you, matches your eyes, makes your hair pop. Do you want me to dye those grays or do you like the streaks against the black. Have you ever thought about going blonde? Ohhhh, what about redhead?"

Falcona put her hand up. "You're buzzing a bit too much, slow it down. We can have girl talk later, your're interrupting my brunch. I'm guessin you need a favor?"

"What does Mason Maniacal want for his birthday?" QB asked and downed half her mimosa.

"How on Earth would I know that?"

QB shot Falcona a stinging gaze. "Come on don't do that. You know everything about everyone in this town, especially us schmucks. I'll owe you big time!"

"Well my pa always used to say "cash is king, so don't be stingy" but that's not really something you give to your boyfriend as a b-day gift."

"We're not dating, at least I don't think we are. More physical than anything." Queeny blushed, her pointed cheeks flushed red, she tried to drown it with orange juice and champagne.

"Not according to my sources, little birdy told me how close you two are. He treatin you good?" Falcona asked.

"Oh yeah, oh yeah. Before you ask I treat him right. It sucks, like what if I get him something and he hates it? So much pressure." QB's face slowly returned to a normal hue.

"What's he into? On a personal level, not his schmuck facade." Falcona ordered another round of drinks, QB could throw em back pretty well.

"He likes football, although he doesn't like it when I bug him with questions about it." QB admitted.

Falcona finished her smoke, stamping it out in the marble ashtray on the table. "I gotta go powder my nose, back in two shakes of a lamb's tail."

Queen Bee slunk down in the booth. Maybe it was just a physical attraction, she really didn't know if there was a genuine spark in her floundering love life, heavy hangs the head that wears the crown. Falcona slid her cellphone across the table and plopped back down into the booth. She lit another smoke.

"Had an idea in the powder room, I think you'll like it." Falcona spewed out a slim spiral of smoke.

"Come on spit it out, don't keep me in suspense." QB pleaded.

"You ever been on Dr. Neutron's war zeppelin?" Falcona asked.

"I wish. I hear it's fucking awesome, like a floating fantasy island." QB bummed a smoke.

"It is. Two weeks from now the Star City Solar Flares are playing on prime time, you and your not boyfriend can use the zeppelin to watch the game from the best seat in the house. I bet once he hears that he'll be very excited. You know that he rambles if he's excited, maybe he'll drop some other clues for ya. If not this is still a damn good present."

QB leaned over the table and smooched the detective's forehead. "Thank you Falco. How did you get Dr. N to agree to that?"

"He hasn't yet but he will. I'm gonna call in the favor you owe me already. In one week there's gonna be a shipment of exotic flowers coming into port, dock c specifically. Melinda Muse and Will O' The Wisp are plannin something but I don't know what. Can you make sure those flowers get pollinated with this please?" Falcona slipped a small glass vial into Queeny's hand.

"Anything to ride on that zeppelin, you wouldn't happen to know if there's a bedroom on it.........do you?" QB whispered.

"Four of em. Just don't break nothin. Nice seeing ya Queeny, now if you please, can I get back to my solo brunch?" Falcona winked. QB got up and smooched Falcona's cheek. Falcona enjoyed watching her leave, the cocktail dress really showed off her stinger. Falcona didn't blink an eye while cleaning up the scum on the streets of Star City. She'd seen things people shouldn't have to see, the grim reality how people can treat each other. Not even she was willing to dip her toe into the dating pool, the odds were good here, but the goods were odd.
