We keep our dog’s (soft-sided) carrier on the floor and he goes in on his own a lot. Sometimes just because he likes it and sometimes to try to get treats; those times he waits for one of us to see he’s going in and will stare until we watch him go in.

I bet your pup is trying to show you they’re a good dog and get a reward :-)

Haha, well unfortunately for him, he's already had his allowance of treats for the day πŸ˜† if I give him any more he'll get a runny bum πŸ˜…

He knows you are planning a trip and doesn't want to be left at home. He looks like a great traveling partner to me 😁

He sure is a great travel partner, we did a 5 hour journey once and he didn't even want to go for a pee or anything πŸ˜€

My guess is that he is puzzled about something you are doing? Got to his safe place (dogs are den animals, and see pens/boxes as dens, not prisons) and is watching to see what happens next.

Well come to think of it, he was scared this morning about some construction work going on in our street, so he could have still heard that from inside the house and been worried about it
