what are your faves?

it doesn’t have to be a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, any restaurant with a bomb option would be just as good! any good veggie ramen?

also, is fall happening yet? i’ve never seen a true fall and i have my fingers crossed tight!

ps. i’ll be staying in the ridgleys delight area!

thanks everyone!!

There's quite a few vegan and ethiopian restaurants in the downtown bromo arts district. I would suggest going during the day or ubering at night while getting around up here though

>never had Ethiopian food

I highly recommend! I’m a vegetarian of 32yrs & I LOVE Ethiopian food (pescatarian now, technically.)

Heads up, it often takes a while. Go with a friend or a book (don’t be in a rush.) If you go with someone who eats meat, let staff know you don’t eat meat & would like the food separate. (It’s served communally at a table on injera bread, sometimes meat is touching other dishes.)

It’s actually very easy being a vegetarian here now, unlike the 80’s (“BLT, hold the B.”) Good options most places, Indian, Thai, Afghan, etc.

Happy dining!

The Land of Kush, Tabor Ethiopian, Refocused Vegan, Cajou Creamery for plant based "ice creams", Vegan Juiceology, Cuples Tea House. All in walking distance of each other, if not right next door to each other lol. Black owned businesses with amazing products and the nicest owners. Welcome to Baltimore!

I almost forgot, Slurpin Ramen has a vegetarian ramen. In the same location (Mount Vernon Marketplace), Brown Rice has vegetarian bibimbap. Lots of choices in Mt Vernon / Bromo Arts neighborhoods.

For a totally unique experience, PaperMoon Diner in Remington.

No fall colors yet, but when they do come in, go to Druid Hill, Stoney Run, and the JHU Homewood (undergraduate) campus.

If you don't have much time and want to walk around in nature (sort of), go to Rash Field and Federal Hill Park, and Fort McHenry.

The Helmand, can’t believe no one has said this yet. And fall is happening but the foliage change isn’t dramatic yet. Hopefully more so by the time you visit.

Ekiben was gonna be my suggestion too. Also a good restaurant with Vegan ribs on Linden Avenue. The name will come to me. It did! The Land of Kush.

If you go to Dodah’s make sure you get the mac & cheese, it’s out of control good. When I see it at the store I always buy it.

It's been a few years since I've been to most of these places since I no longer live in the area but will add Rocket to Venus, Soup's On, and Red Emma's. I remember going to One World Cafe a couple times and it was hot or miss, I remember not being thrilled by the falafel. You're also near Blue Agave and Blue Moon Too which have plenty of veg options

Try Indian or Thai restaurants. Other than Ekiben's tofu brah, there is nothing else to write home about.
