Yeah it's only really nice from Woodberry, and even then only if what you're looking for is a walk in the woods (or disc golf).
From the Reservoir Hill / Mondawmin directions you have to cross busy streets and the actual park entrances are pretty few and far between.

The roads on the west side of the park are an absolute mess, but I think they're going to at least partially fix that (eventually). There's an 81-page (???) PDF you can read about the plan on this page: https://transportation.baltimorecity.gov/dpldcsdesigneffort

About a week or so ago I decided to jog around the whole park. As the author says, it’s definitely not without its flaws and disrepair. But running along the wooded path in the north side of the park, it was amazing how quiet and serene it was despite being in the middle of the city. I really hope the projects being worked on will continue to make the park better, it’s a great community asset.

Druid Hill is my favorite thing about Baltimore. I love the new pool, the fields and especially the back area behind the zoo. I'm excited for them to finish up the lake and restore that path

Put Druid Park Lake Drive on a road diet! Just do it! Stop with the studies and public input, just do it!

Seriously -- at some point the department of transportation has to do something other than just get community feedback.

I used to live in the Reservoir Hill neighborhood and if you’re trying to go to Druid Hill Park after work (if you get home around 5pm-6pm) forget about it with all that traffic. The Pool appears to be nice and I like how much space the park has. I just hope all the construction in and around the park gets done soon.

I love Druid Hill and I'm very excited for the construction to be wrapped up and any of the upgrades coming. The new aquatic center is great and the winding paths around the zoo are beautiful.
My main problem with the park is that getting there on foot sucks from almost every direction. From the Hampden/Remington side there's no sidewalk or pedestrian crossing signals and then you have to walk over 83 (which I know is unavoidable, but it's still unpleasant). The lack of a sidewalk is really a pain when I'm trying to push my baby in a stroller.
100 years ago there was something like 24 pedestrian access points to the park and now there is only something like 8.
I see that DOT is actually the OP so maybe they'll actually see this. I know we passed the Complete Streets ordinance which is great, but without any urgency in its implementation it's not really doing much.
