After all of the positive feedback from last weekend I've made another list of everything I could find that's going on this weekend. If there is anything I missed please let me know and post it below!

All weekend:

SATURDAY & SUNDAY - Black History Month Celebration Weekend @ Museum of Science @ 10AM This two-day event includes special speakers and presentations, family activities, and performance and community groups from the Boston area.

All weekend - Hamilton @ Citizens Bank Opera House Legendary Broadway musical at one of Boston's premiere locations.

Ongoing - 'To Begin Again: Artists and Childhood' Exhibition @ ICA This specially curated exhibition features artworks by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jordan Casteel, Paul Klee, Francis Alÿs, and many others!

Ongoing - 'Touching Roots' Exhibition @ MFA This exhibition traces narratives of Blackness across the Atlantic world by bringing together work from artists who absorbed and reinterpreted African artistic practices, sacred customs, and cultural expressions.

Ongoing - 'Body Awareness: Maria Lassing's Experimental Films' Exhibition @ MFA This exhibition celebrates Lassnig’s pioneering work on film, featuring 16 pieces that explore physical sensation, autobiography, friendship, and New York City.

Ongoing - 'Making Past Present: Cy Twombly' Exhibition @ MFA Unique and groundbreaking, Cy Twombly's work has shaped much of America's post-modern art movement. His work appears alongside ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Near Eastern art, exploring the inspiration Twombly drew from the Classical world.

Ongoing - 'Frank Bowling’s Americas' Exhibition @ MFA “Frank Bowling’s Americas” is the first major survey of the legendary artist's work by an American institution in more than four decades.

Ongoing - 'Who Holds Up the Sky' Exhibition @ MFA Organized in partnership with a Ukrainian NGO, this exhibition presents the work of artists who have been documenting the war—providing testimony of Russia’s crimes and a glimpse into many Ukrainian citizens’ lives.

THURSDAY - FEBRUARY 2

Lunar New Year Celebration @ MFA @ 5PM Ring in the Year of the Rabbit at MFA Boston! Have fun doing special festive activities and learn more about Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese art in the museum.

Ongoing - Free Thursday Night @ ICA @ 5PM The Institute of Contemporary Art is free for all visitors every Thursday from 5 to 9 PM. Tickets available online at 10AM.

Free First Thursday @ Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum @ 3PM Enjoy an evening of discovery and community during this extra special Free First Thursdays: Spades Night!

Rob Schneider @ The Wilbur @ 9:45PM A household name and a bona-fide comedy star, Rob Schneider is in Boston this weekend!

I have secretly wished for a Boston version of NYC-based theskint.com. We need a place for awesome, curated events like these. No filler.

(I’m old enough to remember that thebostoncalendar.com grew out of r/Boston . But it lost detail and some magic as it commercialized. Maybe this is an antidote?)

Your post appears to be one of a number of commonly asked questions about the port city of Boston. Anyway, Royale is fine if you're just trying to get drunk and dance and hookup. The Grand is more of the same as Royale but more expensive and a stricter dress code. Bijou is fine if you're into house music, the last few times I've been to Bijou the crowd was mostly freshly 21 people. Legacy is under Royale and a pretty great queer club if that's you're thing. Good Life, Phoenix Landing, Middlesex, and The Lower Level are all great for underground shows if that's your thing. The vibes at those 4 places are all pretty good. Good Life is my favorite and they open back up this weekend. If you're just looking to get trashed and don't care what you dance to or who you dance around, any of the bars around Haymarket/Faneuil Hall will do. Ned Devine's, Hennessey's, Hong Kong ($1 chicken sticks!), Sissy K's, Coogan's. I think there's a few more I'm missing but those are the big ones. Also, I can't believe I forgot this, but if you're into top 40 or hip hop, Venu, Cure, Icon, and Hava are places to go if you're looking for something a little nicer/fancier/more upscale than what the Faneuil Hall/Haymarket bars and clubs offer. I also forgot about Memoire because it's in the casino but frankly I don't really know anyone who goes to Memoire regularly. It's more of the same stuff they play at the Grand and Royale. Now I think I've named them all. Also, please check the sidebar for visitor information.
