Nintendo has a lot of franchises under their name, so it’s an unfortunate fact that so many of them would be left behind as time goes on. I want to dedicate this space to the series we lost along the way.
I want to leave this conversation open to any series you feel like has been abandoned by Nintendo, but I personally feel like a good rule of thumb is to only include series that haven’t seen a new entry in at least 10 years with no confirmed plans of a new entry.
For me, I would have to go with either Punch-Out or the Mother series. While I understand Itoi is done with Mother and that’s why we haven’t seen another game, Punch-Out is a really sad case for me since it used to be one of Nintendo’s pillars before losing influence and the most recent Wii game is fucking amazing.
