They’re different styles of fighting games.
You can’t measure one games skill requirement compared to another’s either. It’s a totally arbitrary metric

Both require little skill to play. Tekken and street fighter, now those are technical fighting games.

Newer fgs focus on casuals/'modern 'gamers' now, they are about less complexity and mashing, getting of corners for free, high damage, Rps mechanics/get out of jail free card.
The casualizing never stops though it's mostly always been a thing but we are in the end game of it.

My 5yr old nephew is a boss at both of those games, but can't do anything and gets so frustrated when he plays Tekken of SF.

Not too familiar with MK, but I’ve played many different FGs and they each require different types of skills and mindsets. A lot of it overlaps, so really I wouldn’t worry about it too much — in the end every FG is hard because you’re trying to beat another human at the other end.
