I was scared a bit that these will sound about the same as my old beyers on a 100 usd mic/headphone amp, but oh boy I was surprised.

Nice. These are enormously comfortable. A tad brighter than the DT880, and generally an improvement. Very easy to EQ!

Hey oratory I recently got the NDH30 and I’m loving it so far. But I’m also curious about the DT900x and HD560s. Would be great to hear your thoughts on them.

they're all open-back. Out of the box I prefer the HD560S, they come the closest to what I consider neutral sound, at least out of those three. But when using them with EQ, those differences become miniscule.
However in terms of comfort, the NDH30 and DT900X both beat it, the HD5xx-shape just doesn't completely fit my head.

I’m sorry I just realized I missed your reply. Funny you mentioned about comfort because after using the NDH30 about a month now. I find that while they sound awesome, I would get hotspot on top of my head after wearing them for a couple of hours. Is there a headphone that is lighter than the NDH30 but perform similarly? I particularly like its sub-bass extension, its ability to separate instruments very clearly, and its natural tonality. I also have the HD600, while I like its tonality, it lacks in the sub-bass and instrument separations compared to the NDH30 imo. I’m kind of interested in trying the HD560s after what you said. Would you say I’ll like the HD560s? Do you have any other recommendations? Headphones I’ve tried so far are M50s, X2, HD600, Q701, DT990, HD700, TYGR, HD660s, NDH30. Thanks in advance!

HD560S :) (in terms of bass extension. It's quite a bit brighter than the NDH30 at the top, which in this case is a good thing since that's where the NDH30 is lacking)

Sounds good. I’ll pick up a pair and see if it can replace the Neumann for me or not. Thanks a lot!

I've been using Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro plus since 2017. They've been on my head every day for 12+ hours. They took a good beating as well and they served me well. So I decided to retire them and buy something new. I've been searching for an ideal headphones from various brands, styles, tunning, open or closed.

Well? How do you like 'em? I have the DT990 Pro which is basically the predecessor of these, and it's great

i basicly went through all of the beyer models to try a while ago. if you enjoy them, good for you but to me, beyers signature sound is something i cant handle. there were 2 cans i enjoyed for what they are, wich is the 32ohm 770pro and the 600ohm dt880 but all the others i dont like at all. including the 900pro x. dt990pro are prob among the worst, their treble basicly rapes ears.
Sennheiser HD6xx and HD560s i prefer in pretty much every way

Nice choice going for the 900 Pro X model instead of the very popular DT990

I had a budget of 250 USD and they were an obvious choice.

According to descriptions and FR graphs these can be the solution of my "open back, with good sub-bass yet spacious sound Headphone" search.
But lots of reviewers are throwing shades on them. They say it is not as spacious as DT990. They cut 10 db of outside noise. Semi-open esque. That stopped me. Because I already have Tygr300r.
Also because of the filter material they used in order to control high treble peaks made them less detailed muffled (according to those reviewers)
People say they are so flat, they lack the energy of classic Beyer signature.
DMS, Andrew from Headphones.com etc.
So I am kinda in the middle. If they are not as good as dt990, Tygr300r, dt1990, I need to spent my money somewhere else.
But I really want to hear them. Tygr 300r was really good but mid frequencies were scooped-recessed too much for my taste.
These tick all the boxes. I hope you liked them. What are your experiences, observations with them so far ?
ShakingKarna OP t1_ird8gpt wrote
Well, I am not that experienced with audio, but I am satisfied with them so far. I haven't tried Dt 990 so I can't compare them but when it comes to audio it self I would say they are worth a purchase and yes they are more like a semi open headphones while listening but when you don't play anything the feel like a real open back, so I guess there's more to it.

Have had these for about 6 months now. Easily my favourite pair of phones I’ve ever owned. Premium build all around, even the case feels nice in the hands. And MAN, I hook these up to my AVR for some late night movie watching and I feel like I’m at the cinemas. They dig DEEP. Great cans. Also pads feel like pillows on my head. So comfortable. Hope you like em! I sure do.
