I’m definitely running into this issue even with the compatibility switch turned on. Even when tethering to other iPhones

Have you tested it via USB and via WI-FI to see if there’s an issue with the connection? Could be the Wi-Fi on you computer is the issue? 🤷🏻

I was using it all the time with my old mobile (samsung) without any problems

As an old android user, i can safely say iPhone’s hotspot is not reliable at all. Keeps disconnecting every 5-10 minutes. Android let’s hotspot turned on as long as you have battery.

You can enable Maximise Compatibility, to overcome your issue.

Maximize comparability will reduce speeds for devices connected to your hotspot. It’s for if you need to use your phone as well.

false, it forces hotspot broadcasting on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi instead of 5GHz Wi-Fi

this is for older devices that might not like 802.11ac or ax

If you try to connect it with other devices other than iphone i think..i turned on the maximize compatibility as well so others can connect to my personal hotspot..

I had a similar problem a few years ago; I found turning in bluetooth on both devices (the hotspot and the client) fixed it at that time

I have the exact same problem. Connecting my private laptop is no problem, but connecting my work laptop is. It gets disconnected often and at the same time the other laptop stays connected. So I don’t think the phone is the problem And yes, maximum compatibility is turned on.
