Advice Finding Roomates

Hi everyone. I am going to be moving to the Jersey City area later this year (around June). I have been looking at places within my price range 1,000-1500 a month in Jersey City and Bayonne and have found that the options are not that stellar for one bedrooms. I have been contemplating finding roommates to find a more agreeable option closer to public transportation. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice or share some experiences they have had when looking for shared housing in JC.

what's bringing you here / why does it need to be JC? that budget is pretty tough even for the heights.

My office is here. But also better access to the city than what I have now in CNJ.

That budget is likely gonna land you somewhere in the McGinley Sq/west side area. Close enough to public transit, any closer to a train station and you’re gonna be paying more.

The area isn’t gentrifying as quickly as expected, your rent can easily be $1k or less if you find a couple roommates.
