🥺 i found an injured duck that might’ve possibly gotten hit by a car. What do i do? Are there any wild life centers in the area or does anyone know a place i could call so they could pick It up?

Jersey City Animal Control should pick it up & get it to a rehabber. 201-547-4888

FYI the nearby bird rehabbers I know about are The Raptor Trust in Basking Ridge, NJ, and Wild Bird Fund in Manhattan.

I took It in and called animal control. Thanks so much for the number! It’s almost impossible to find anything in our area online. Someone should be contacting me shortly (fingers crossed)

FYI, Animal Control is going to have to call around for a volunteer to bring the duck to the Raptor Trust. If you have a car, you could take it there yourself. There's also a bird rehab facility on the Upper West Side: https://www.wildbirdfund.org/

Glad I could assist. Helping injured wildlife is never going to be easy or convenient, but it's the right thing to do. Thank you.

Try calling emergency 24/7 vets to see if they’d take it in. If it’s hurt real bad, I’d gently pick it up with a towel and take it myself

Why am I imagining Donald Duck in a sling? Hope this one gets the help it deserves.

Liberty Humane Society in Liberty State Park also takes birds and then transfers them to The Raptor Trust. They maintain a network of volunteer drivers who will take the bird out there.
