Hi. Thank you all for your suggestions. I contacted Dr. Faraz's office. They were very caring but could only see me on the 20th of Dec. They told me to see my Primary immediately and run tests. Depending on the tests they would try to see me sooner.

My primary doctor is very good. Called them and they didn't have any appointments(was scheduled for annual in Jan). But made them aware how I was feeling. Immediately had me come in the next day. Got blood works and EKG. Everything came back normal except my Vitamin D levels were extremely low. Blood pressure was a little high and the cholestrol was still acceptable range but up slightly.

The low vitamin D could explain my chest pain, dizziness, slight nausea, palpations and mild perspiration. It also could have been vertigo which I have had before. And like everyone else stress and anxiety also could be a factor. And while reading in bed, I turned over on my chest and felt twinge of pain.....so might have strained it.

Still keeping my appointment with Doctor Faraz. Fingers crossed.

Didn’t see the original post, but I also got the run-around from cardiologists in the JC area recently, wanted to share my 2 cents…

I would suggest checking with your insurance about other cardiology practices in a wider radius, because it’s easier than you think to get upstate quickly via a train out of Hoboken.

For example, after being told an urgent test could not be scheduled until January at the cardiology practice in Bayonne, I was able to be seen and tested the next day after a 1hr train ride to Suffern (from Hoboken).

The folks at the cardiologists were really caring. Scheduling has always been an issue in our Healthcare system but I do believe the epidemic has made it worse....especially as lots of folks are trying to makeup missed appointments, checkups and operations.

I didn't see your original post but if you're still looking for a cardiologist I want to highly recommend Dr. Domenic Mariano in Montclair. I believe he is affiliated with both Englewood AND Hackensack. His office is within walking distance of the train if that's a necessity for you.

That's pretty routine for specialists these days if they've got a good reputation. Some really good doctors affiliated with good hospitals in NYC are 3-5+ months out for new patients. A lot of doctors only see new patients 1 or 2 days a week during certain hours. It's even worse when they also teach or do procedures, since they've got only so many office hours. They pick and choose based on severity/urgency who gets those slots and what order.

Some will just decline you unless you've been to another specialist already and that didn't go well. I had one who asked for some tests to be faxed over, then the office told me they could see me in 2 months based on the doctor glancing over the tests. [Shrug].

After that first appointment though, you're in and scheduling follow ups or even a new appointment for a new issue with that doctor becomes 100X easier. It's just about getting in.

I wasn't really symptomatic, but like many, many, many people living in this part of the world, I was Vitamin D deficient. I actually asked for a test after a coworker telling me about their deficiency. My doctor just added it to the blood work I was already having.

I did find after taking supplements for a while I was less lethargic in the late afternoon, especially in the winter months. I guess it was my "normal" for years (or always, not sure if deficiency is common in kids or not?) so I never noticed it, but after being on supplements for several months I realized something had changed. So I could totally believe deficiency could be a cause of your symptoms. The list of possible symptoms is huge and diverse.

I am hoping it's just the lack of vitamin D. And not something more serious like myocarditis, a blockage or worse.

If your doctor suspected something more serious they would have insisted you get to a specialist faster or the ER. So that’s a good sign.
