How do you find a reputed insurance agent for auto insurance? any recos?

I’ve never found independent agents worthwhile for personal auto insurance. Just get quotes from the websites and cut out the middle man.

If you’re a business it might make sense to deal with an agent.

For personal insurance you can do it all right online

I've never tried going through an agent but Geico had better rates for me in NJ even though Progressive had better rates for me in IL.

A few years ago I got quotes through agents and they were about 50% higher. Have a clean driving record and I owned my car so I wasn't getting anything other than liability. We now have 2 cars on our insurance and both have collision and we pay $2400 a year for both through Progressive not through an agent.
