Mine takes a watch battery. Just have to pop it open and replace. Double check your car’s user manual.

Already kinda stated, but do a quick google search for your make/model/year and “key fob battery;” you should find a video showing you what to do

Literally replaced mine yesterday. My Honda takes CR2032 battery. Google your car model and see what battery it takes. Tons of YT vids on how to open the fob. Took less than a minute to replace.

Dealership not required but they probably have the replacement battery you need and should not damage your key. Its not that difficult if you know how but don't wait until your battery is too low or you may get locked out on a cold day.
