Looking to purchase a new car and I just want to be as accurate as possible in running numbers before hand. What fees can I expect to pay AT PURCHASE of car?

Price of Car

Sales tax (Flat 6.25% of price of car?)

Edit: Reason for asking is the ambiguity into the Tesla purchase process

Don't forget those ridiculous documentation fees that stealerships are always trying to hit you with right before you finish up the transaction.

After the car ,tax and the dealers service fees the registration is not that bad.If you can afford the car and tax don't worry about the other small stuff.

Aside from what others have said, keep excise tax in mind. I believe all towns in MA collect that once a year. It can be very heavy on a new car purchase (like $1000), but trails off fairly quickly in subsequent years.

Are you trading too? If so, the sales tax is calculated on your out-of-pocket price. So, if the new car is $40,000 and they give you $18,000 for your trade, you only pay sales tax on $22,000.

If you’re buying direct from tesla, there will be sales tax, registration, and any title fees. Shouldn’t be any bs dealer add-ons since, well, there’s no dealer.
