Yeah, I feel like, "no heat or hot water in the middle of a New England winter," is the point at which you stop sending rent checks. What would you even be paying for? If a judge eventually evicts you, do you thank them?

Only reason I can think is because the only alternative is $1600 or more. If adults made that decision for themselves whatever. I wish we lived in a world where nobody had to live here but I'm guessing they probably don't have a lot of options and it's better than jumping off a bridge.

It’s been all over the local Facebook page for months, pretty sure they’re putting the rent into an escrow account.

True but if it's condemed they will just squat until the cops take them out by force anyways.The house next to my building is condemed and that's what happened.
