I am looking for any store/place where I can buy used books. I am aware that there are great options for this online, but I'd also really like to go to one of these places. I'm thinking of a price CAP of $15-$20. Places in Andover or Methuen would be good. Not looking for a particular kind of book or genre.

It’s in Burlington. I’ve never been. Read an article recently about it and it’s on my “might be too dangerous on the wallet to visit” list.

Seconding the Used Book Superstore. Bob (owner) has been great sending books to troops stationed overseas.

I highly recommend More Than Words.

I don't work for them, but I support them because I believe in their mission. They offer older kids in the foster care system, kids experiencing court-involved homelessness, or kids who may have mental health challenges a place to work, to learn skills that may help them. Profits go to fund programs.

They explain their mission much better than I can.

Antique stores are a good option. Some stores that have multiple sellers within it will sometimes have more modern books for sale. Could be worth browsing.

A lot of thrift stores especially if they're like personally owned or sponsored by a church will have books for really cheap Savers normally has cheap books especially if they're running deals and then check Facebook Marketplace a lot of people will just post like a bunch of books and you can pick and choose and it's normally pretty cheap and then I just look for garage or yard sales once the weather has warmed up a little bit spring people really love to be getting rid of stuff especially books

The last time I went to the Savers in Plaistow there was a big sign saying they weren’t accepting books, which is a bummer because I don’t like to donate to religious orgs. I’d like to donate them to a jail or prison, but it seems like a huge hassle

There is a flea marker in Amherst NH in the summer that was a great place to buy used paperbacks. Loved it for my summer beach reading.

Most libraries run book sales once or twice a year. Not a bookshop experience, but you can score stacks of books for very little money.

Some libraries have used books for sale all year long too...depends on the library! And the money goes back into the library funds too.

Come to Cambridge. Seriously. There are a lot of great local bookstores that have good used book sections. Pandemonium Books in Central Square is my go-to, but there are tons of great, interesting bookstores, mostly within walking distance of eachother.

Google does not cover all. It's fun to see people, in real time, share things that may not be on Google.
