I was looking to find info on this movie and it seems that while any other new release has a mega thread plus other posts, there is almost nothing for Jesus Revolution…. It really can’t be because it’s religious based right? My wife and I go to the movies almost every weekend and see a wide variety of movies and honestly this was better than most just from a pure acting, story telling and execution perspective.
Jesus Resurrections was RIGHT there.

Probably not likely to find many posts for a religious movie on a mainstream subreddit, even if the movie was excellently done. You are more likely to find some on the Christian subreddits.
I appreciate there being a "Christian movie" that's just a feel-good film that happens to involve the church, rather than a movie that lectures about why atheists are bad and ends with an atheist dying.

Few people are discussing this movie, because "Christian movies" - movies made, specifically, to carry a pro-Christian religious message - have a terrible track record and the creative team behind this movie has - at best - a mixed record of financial success.
Probably because it's an extreme niche.
For example when I look now, it's not available on any streaming platform in the UK, nor screening at any cinemas who list online. I expect similar will be true for other nations in the anglosphere, and it's presence in countries outside the anglosphere will be even smaller than it's non-existence here.
Films covering religious topics absolutely can be mainstream, but from what I am reading about this film - and there's plenty coming up on google searches, so I don't know why you'd be having difficulty finding information on it - this is primarily a faith-affirming flick and not just a movie about a religious topic; It's reach therefore will be limited to those people who are interested in such an experience, just as one might imagine a particularly soppy romcom's or an obscene horror's reach will be limited to a specific audience, too.
More to the point, why were you looking for information about a movie you've already seen?

I just figured I would see what others thought about a movie that I had just seen (esp since it was the 3rd largest over the weekend) in this sub and was surprised (now seeing that maybe I shouldn't have been) that I really couldn't find anything even though it grossed over 15m over the weekend and 3rd overall... Seemed odd to me...
Sure - top ten, in the US only, two months into the year, leaning on 60s and 70s nostalgia, with overt religion-specific messaging - albeit by all accounts not too heavy-handed: That's pretty niche, my dude.
It's really not surprising to me that nobody on an international forum has talked about this film before you did; Particularly given that Reddit can oft bear the reputation in some circles of being a hive of scum and villainy.
I just haven’t seen it. Doesn’t really appeal to me. Probably the case for a fair amount of other people.
I'd rather watch a Marvel movie instead. I hate Marvel movies.

These varied responses are interesting to me. At the end of the day, its just a movie... There are all kinds of movie themes these days but I don't think I have seen the kind of adverse reaction or suppression of any other genre, especially in this so called "movie" (not "non religious movie") sub reddit who's stated goal is: "The goal of /r/Movies is to provide an inclusive place for discussions and news about films with major releases." Since Jesus Revolution is in the top 10 opening weekend grossing films for 2023 (number 3 last week) you would think there would be a bit more openness, or at least normal conversation that could happen among fellow movie goers... I don't think any other theme gets this kind of reaction but maybe I am wrong... For those willing, just food for thought...
