According to Wikipedia, IMAX dual 2K xenon projectors have an upscale resolution of 2.9k. Is this correct and if so, does that mean IMAX dual 4K projector’s or Dolby cinema for that matter has an upscale resolution of 5.9k (1.45x of 4096).

If this is the case you could have the screen take up a wider field of view, and not have the screen door effect of seeing the pixels. I myself think I still see the screen door effect at 66 degrees (50 feet from a 65 foot wide screen) in my Dolby cinema.

I would say every movie but only in certain scenes

OP you could try talking to the theater manager to check it out and see if somehow the projector is incorrectly setup.

I'm sorry but this isn't the right subreddit for your question. You should talk about this at r/imax where it's more appropriate.

Dude, who cares? More likely to get an answer (quickly) by posting more places and in bigger subs.

Oh no I didn't mean to tell them to GTFO or anything. I was telling them to post it there because here it's just a bunch movie people that don't know the technology.
