I live in the UK and I was watching Halloween (2018) and found it to be pretty tame when it came to the deaths of the characters, only one character had a horrific death, but we didn’t really see it happen it was just what was left over. Idk why the film is rated 18, while something like IT has arms being ripped off of children and tons of bloody gorey imagery and only has a 15. Does Halloween (2018) have an 18 just because there is one shot of a nipple?

What are other examples of films being given weird ratings

Times change, when you think that "Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark" earned only a PG rating when there are some very gory scenes at the end (enough to traumatize the child that I was in any case ) maybe the rating is more severe these days?

Ratings in US are strange and UK in some ways is a lot more strict (I’ve come to learn). For example, Titanic has a scene of very obvious nudity and is only PG-13, but there have been films like Halloween (2018) where there’s just a couple of frames of it. Maybe 3 moments where there’s I guess a “decent” amount of blood and it’s rated R. I suppose censors look at the “context” I honestly have no clue because I’m just as confused sometimes. Just like Paranormal Activity is rated R but it’s only because the F word is said a small handful of times along with some minor PG-13 cussing.
