Watched Top Gun: Maverick with my parents a few months ago, and my nearly 70 year old father has watched the original Top Gun a million times, so it really, really warmed my heart to see him on the edge of his seat, blown away by the events of the movie, all the while my mom (bless her dear heart) would periodically grab my arm and squeeze it during the tense scenes. Just felt incredible to see both of my parents get so emotionally invested in a movie, I'll always love that movie for that experience alone.

And you?

One of my dad's favorite movies was Cross of Iron which features a particularly memorable nazi character.

We used to see everything in theaters but somehow he missed out on Inglorious Basterds.

I told him the nazi in this made that one look like a walrus.

I watched his face during the opening scene. At the moment >!when Hans Landa drops his smiling facade and reveals the stone faced killer beneath!< he lit up like a Christmas tree.

When he >!starts speaking in fluent Italian after the infamous bonjourno!< he lost it again, just as I expected.

One of the rare times I got to introduce a movie to him that I knew he would really love.

Had sex with my now wife in the back of the cinema while watching the house bunny. If you haven't seen it it's really not great but I like that memory.

I also have happy memories of the first transformers movie where all my friends and out teenage girlfriends went to see it in a massive group. It was so fun. Just like wholesome teenage fun at the movies.

Saw the second matrix movie with some lads from school the night it was released. We snuck out as teenagers, snuck into the movie and then got stranded as we missed the last bus. We then had to call a lads mum to come and get us and she was pissed. We were made up though.

A couple of days after my son was born my wife told me to leave her at home and watch Rogue 1 as she knows I love starwars but knew we wouldn't get chances to go to the cinema with a new baby at home. I went with a mate and it was epic. I loved every scene.

Watched the Witch in the middle of the night while feeding my new born son over a bleak winter. Just holding him as he slept and ate and his mum was in the bedroom exhausted. It was spooky but the story of the missing baby at the start of the film felt much more powerful with a baby in my arms.

I have 2 movies....

I must have been 7-9 years old.

Can't remember the year (early 80's). Day after Valentine's Day

We borrowed a Betamax from someone.

They had 2 movies for us to watch. The first was Annie. It's the first time I watched a movie at home.

The second movie I watched was early in the morning. I woke up early just to watch a space movie...it had Wizards with laser swords, a giant sized weapon and the Millennium Falcon.

I'll never forget how much that influenced my taste in movies.

Gay movies I watched in college back in the day. There was no gay content at all back in the day, so stumbling upon these movies made me very happy
