Land of the Lost is so close to being great but the lizard people RUIN it

The protagonists have chemistry, and the premise is a great idea. The sleestaks make me feel so uncomfortable. Their design, and even the main ones voice, is so off putting. There are so many different routes they could have gone down with the premise of this movie. A would-be classic comedy is dramatically downgraded by these antagonist. The premise gave the writers infinite possibilities. The main antagonist could have been hitler, Ghengis Kahn, a robot idk. Anyone got a better antagonist?

— I did not know it was based on a old show. So, I’m coming from a unbiased view

It was based off a schlocky show from yesteryear, so I think they did a pretty good job with the material they were given

For those of us who grew up watching the original TV show, this movie was terrific. Such a great parody/homage to one of the silliest kids show ever made.

What’s the point of Land of the Lost if it doesn’t have Sleestaks? They were the best part of the show!

I felt like the movie was torn between making a Land of the Lost movie and making a funny satirical one, like at times it was more satirical but it didn't keep up the pace of jokes and got bogged down in the land of the lost material

It could have been a lot funnier, as it is it's just kind of a novelty

I guess if you ignore the source material. Kind of like the criticisms of the Westworld TV show that thought it would be a better show if the robots didn't revolt and it just explored the park...
