Wondering if anyone else has had miscounted meds come back from this location.

Someone I know has had it happen 3 times and they witnessed someone in there the other day be denied as they were trying to fill early seems kinda like they were shorted without knowing.

Looking into how to report this as apparently, they do not require someone else to verify counts and they do it all by hand with no video proof. Kinda sketchy.

If you have a concern contact the pharmacy manager. If it doesn’t get resolved contact corporate. If that doesn’t do it contact the board of pharmacy.

We actually did and she couldn't have cared less. She hung up on him and we went in to talk instead. She didn't look concerned at all. She's the one that confirmed they have no checks or balances on any med counts including the controlled substances. Likely will contact both corporate and the board as this is the 3rd time just for them. Thanks!

This happened to my mother at Walgreens in Exeter. I was on the phone with their corporate in IL for about 45 minutes and then I had a call waiting from the pharmacy that they "found" the missing pills, and I have no doubt that corporate called the pharmacy while they put me on hold. I'm not in the legal field but did go to law school and threatened corporate with the appropriate verbiage.

Was it a schedule drug that can’t be refilled early?

There's a limited 7 day period and the person was shorted over 3 days of meds this last refill. Thankfully it isn't more tight of a timeline, but still not great as we don't know if this med was shorted previously either. He started counting them since the last time he was short recently on another med.

Ok. I was wondering because my anxiety med there is a 3day waiting period before a refill but it’s a scheduled 4 drug.

Not at that pharmacy, but at others. Yes, it's very common. People working there with more incentive to steal and resell drugs. I had an entire script for Adderall for my daughter substituted with an acne medication. Oops, we made a mistake. Sure......

Funny thing is the last time they shorted him, the person just gave him a bottle with the extra meds and the same label printed didn't check ID or anything. The manager said their numbers matched which makes us think the person stole them. We both counted 2 times each the same night getting them but they were closed by the time we did so he called the next morning. That's crazy mistakes like that aren't supposed to happen you'd think these things would be more carefully handled.

I switched to walgreens from this riteaid due to weird issues and haven't had a problem since. They don't even have a camera over the people counting... I find this so weird lol

it wouldn't surprise me if the management was in on the take. I contacted the attorney general's office. At least if they get enough reports, they will investigate.
