Been there hundreds of times. The chapel right up the road is a pretty famous one too. Love the sandwich wilderness.

Yeah the Ferncroft area is just quintessential rural New England goodness. Absolutely beautiful.
For the sake of argument, I’d call this area decidedly central NH.

It isn’t like the thoughts of a man who lies
There is a truth and it’s on our side
Dawn is coming

That drive into the lot is definitely one of the best views in the area. Also - don't sleep on the Hibbard - Mount Woncalecet loop. Everyone does Whiteface/Passaconway but if you want to avoid crowds the eastern side is great.

Absolutely! Not sure if everyone has hiked to Paugus but if you do, Kelley Trail. Its less traveled and theres a box canyon.

I've only done Paugus via Big Rock and Cabin. Its been awhile since I've been over there, maybe I'll check out the Kelley Trail. I'm semi casually redlining so I need to check it out anyway.

Its worth it. The canyon surprised me.

These are my favorite areas in the Whites, these beauty cubbies. The old little white house with the dirt road and a hiking trail hub basically. The whole scene screams New Hampshire.

Is there handicap access to this hike?
JBorrelli12 OP t1_ivlb56f wrote
Sure, this isnt actually a hike, its at the end of a road that leads to popular hikes. You can check out this area simply by driving up the road.

That’s the ferncroft trailhead that most people park at to hike Whiteface and Passaconaway
