I have been following the Colonia High School cancer cluster probe, and realized today that it had been awhile since I heard about it.

The most recent update I have found (link here) is dated November 22nd, 2022, and says that "Results are expected in a few weeks from recent soil and air testing at Colonia High School".

If you look at the letter from the superintendent referenced in the article, he says "Should we be aware of any safety concerns as a result of the analysis... which we expect to receive within several weeks, we will take immediate action".

It has been 13 weeks since the testing was completed-- has anyone heard an update? A little odd to not hear more given that it was national news.

Ohio is the national news now...in all seriousness, the bottom of the link you provided gives you the email address of the author of the story. Shoot an email and ask if there was a follow up. Email: srussell@gannettnj.com

I'm not in NJ but looking at recent studies it seems like the state has among the worst water and air quality consistently.

is anything particular about that area where the high school is?

New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country. It would kind of go hand in hand that the air quality isn't the best. Obviously it's not as bad as Los Angeles, but California is a big enough to balance it out when it comes to these studies.

As for the school, they don't really know, that's kind of what the testing is also all about. There are a lot of super fund sites in New Jersey and I believe this is near one of them. Toms river was also a big cancer cluster (at least in the 80s and 90s) as well as a few other towns.
