I am due for a state inspection with my 2013 Scion XB. Mechanically it is in good shape but I need to replace the front bumper. There is a piece missing in front of the passenger side front tire, exposing the wiper fluid reservoir. I cannot get this repaired before my inspection is due. Will this cause a fail?

as long as your check engine light is off and it passes the computer emissions scan you're fine.

inspection is a complete scam since they cut out the actual safety inspections.

For the most part, as long as your car doesn't throw a code when they hook it up, and has enough miles on it since its last code, and your exhaust system is stock, they will pass you.

I believe they retain the right to flag you for something blatantly obvious, like you roll in on 3 wheels, but i haven't heard of it happening.
