Just moved to Sparta, NJ from Jersey City where we were previously very spoiled with access to wonderful delis (ie: Fiore’s, Canngiannos, Vito’s). Can anyone recommend some good delis within 10-15 minute radius of Sparta? Bonus points if they make amazing turkey sandwiches- love a good turkey sandwich.

Hayeks in Newton is killer, but kind of a drive depending on what part of Sparta. Bagel Station on rt 15 has good sandwiches and killer bagels of you're not looking for cold cuts by the pound. They'd probably do it tho.
G&S deli in Newton and Andover are FIRE. If you want good bread and pastries, and want to make the drive, try the Yellow Cottage in Branchville. If you make the drive to Branchville get a bagel at Firehouse. IMO best bagel out there but I'm definitely biased

If you are ok with driving a bit, Sergio & Co. in Denville has good Italian deli stuff

When I moved to Vernon, I thought I was going to have to give up good bagels forever. How wrong I was -- Hamburg Hot Bagels is REMARKABLE. And Akeef, the owner, is hilarious.

Second Hamburg hot bagel, but the local competition is fierce in Sussex county

Hayek’s for sandwiches, Hamburg Hot Bagels and Bagel Tree for bagels/etc.

As a transplant from Morris/Bergen county I will say it depends on what you are looking for. For a good Italian deli I agree with the other comment that Sergio’s in Denville slaps. If you want an all around hot spot G&S is awesome. The one on 206 in Andover is newer and definitely has the better staff. It’s usually run by the sons, and you can taste the difference. The one in Newton is good, but looks really run down.
I disagree with the Hayeks comments simply because I get sick 9 out of 10 times there. The fried chicken and potato wedges are awesome but I hate having to ask them to clean the knife between sandwiches 🤢 they act like it’s the market basket, and it’s definitely not. I keep thinking it’s going to be different every time I go, and it’s not.

It ain't much- I recommend Cranberry Market and Deli in Byram. It's 14 minutes from Sparta. There are a handful of decent restaurants in Sparta, but there isn't a good deli. La Vita is good but they don't do turkey. If you find one, will you let us know?
