I know that the past few years, we've had an EV rebate program (Charge Up). Was just wondering, is that still a thing? The website seems to be up and it looks like funding is available, but I can't find much info for 2023 beyond that. I'm especially curious since the recent Tesla price drops have brought both the Model 3 and Y below the $55k limit, so wanted to know if NJ buyers would get an additional discount from Charge Up?

There’s still money left. Both model 3 and y will qualify.

The Y will qualify once Tesla gets through the certification process. I can confirm Tesla applies the rebate at Point of Sale, since I just picked up my MYLR yesterday. The caveat being I’ll be on the hook if NJ doesn’t approve.

Oh, you actually got the 4k rebate? Nice, so I guess that confirms that the program is active then.

No, it'll be $2k for the Y if the state approves. Tesla applied it at point of sale as good will.

Just bought an electric BMW. You do not pay NJ sales tax on on purchase. In addition, there are rebates in installing a home charger. Up to $1500 on install (not including cost of charger). An additional $5k available (up to) if they need to pull more power from pole.

Thanks, is there any info available on this? I can't seem to find anything about the 1.5/5k rebates.

Also, did you happen to get the 4k discount from charge up for the car itself?

The BMW WAS 73k. It doesn’t qualify for charge up. It looks like they have a max MSRP

Did you buy the i4 M50? If so, I’m heavily leaning towards that since MB’s EQE looks like an 09 Civic and super slow 0-60

Yes. We picked it up last week. I put a deposit in one last Saturday that was in transit. It was delivered to me on Thursday. Test drove, Genesis G80 electric, Kia and Hyundai twins, Mach E, Polestar 2. I really wanted a sedan not a SUV. The Genesis was surprisingly really great, but an $81k car being serviced by a Hyundai dealer scared me.

The M50 feels and looks like a real car and more importantly like a BMW.

Black Sapphire, Black Leather, Premium pack, parking pack, shadow line.

73k is a bargain compared to the other premium electric vehicles. Might switch to BMW soon.
